It was also gratifying to return on a quieter afternoon and delight in the quality and variety of the work created here. If you haven't been yet, go before it closes Sept. 22nd.
I agree with Brian and Robin's comments. I would only add that there have been several exhibits at the High in recent years focused on local artists, including Susan Cofer, Radcliffe Bailey, Chip Simone, Alejandro Aguilera, and works from MOCAGA's collection. More to come.

Re: Painter Painter vs. Painters Panting: A Regional Painting Standoff

I look forward to the day when I can read a review about contemporary painting exhibit that does not mention painting's reason for existing or its death. End of. I am a serious gamer and I'm so exhausted of being ignored by 90% of the industry. I really do see your points but is it possible that there are many women out there just like me who simply want ANY alternative to hyper sexualised or dimwitted women who have to be rescued? Sad to hear the games are less about "fun" but I'd still play them just for a change. Baby steps in the right direction are still steps in the right direction, try not to be overly critical.

Re: Contemporary Heritage: Artists and Administrators Re-envision Nashville Culture

Thank you, John! Before we get too sentimental for the old days, though, think about the reasons that network no longer exists. I have heard older relatives say, "Why, back then you ride a streetcar all over the city."
The fact is that you can still do that today on a MARTA bus, but we don't do it because driving is faster, easier, and more comfortable.

Re: Traces of the Past: What Once Was Old is New Again—Streetcars in Atlanta

Maybe in the old world of coke building downtown?
